The Food Park is a vital and newest component of The Black Love Experience. Truck/Booth sharing is not allowed as our food area is a very curated feature. Selection is not on a first come/first serve basis and submittal of application does not guarantee participation. All accepted vendors will receive a confirmation email letter by February 18th. Registration will close January 15th or sooner depending on the amount of responses. Please read the INFO points for details and required documentation.
Space is limited. Non-food truck vendors will be provided with 10x10 tent, (1) table and (2) chairs. Vendors are responsible for all other display props, hanging materials, signs, etc. Anticipated Attendance: 3000+. All food vendors are currently mapped in a non-ticketed, public access area.
The vending fee is $350 (plus $19.04 ticket fee). A non-refundable deposit of $105 is required to reserve space PLUS sell (7) seven tickets for at $35/ticket (plus $2.72 per ticket). Vendors are required to submit full payment to reserve space by March 1, 2020. Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. We’re happening rain or shine. ALL EARNINGS from vendor sales belong to the vendor.
We are committed to ensuring there aren’t too many similar vendors or food trucks selling the same products, however we cannot guarantee an overlap in menu items.
Booth/ location assignments will be provided before the event. Considerations will be based on competing food categories and time of submission of application.
Vendors are responsible for collecting sales tax and for reporting earnings to IRS and DC Tax Office. Only fully licensed, insured and compliant mobile food vehicles and food vendors may participate. All applicants must have up-to-date proper food handling and sanitation certification in order to participate in the event.
All food trucks using propane and/or deep frying for food preparation must have a fire extinguisher that is compliant with safety codes and procedures in case of fire hazardous situations.
Garbage bins will be provided for disposal of waste and food products.
No coals, grease or waste of any kind may be disposed of on any areas of the event, parking lot, dumpsters, etc. Grease waste may be disposed of on-site only if necessary. Please ask our Food Vendor Coordinator about the rules and regulations. Food vendors are liable for any fines or clean-up associated with any spills.
NO SELLING OF WATER OR ALCOHOL PERMITTED.
Load In & Load Out information will be provided at a later date upon acceptance. Vendors may not vacate the premises until the event has ended.
Cancellation will forfeit 100% of your vending fees.
