(2017) Global Kids  - College Tour

Anacostia High School - Southeast, Washington, DC 20020

An after-school program that exposes students to countries and cultures around the world.  They develop youth leaders for the global stage. Every summer students partake in international trips such as Brazil, Costa Rica, Haiti, and South Africa.

 

(2016) Kuumba Learning Center

Kuumba Learning Center located in Washington, DC has a comprehensive program that maximizes your child's learning potential through experiential opportunity in a variety of age- appropriate contexts from toddlers, Pre school and school age program.

(2015) Orr Elementary School South Africa Tour

During the school year 2014/15, the learners of Orr Elementary School led by their teacher, Ms Jamila Thompson, learned about South African culture, history and values. Officials from the Embassy visited Orr Elementary School to engage with the learners during the year. On 4 June 2015, the learners made a final presentation on what they had learned about South Africa at the Embassy. They also had an opportunity to meet the South African Ambassador and tour the Embassy.  In 2016, the students were able to take their long awaited trip to South Africa.

(2014) National Black United Front - Feed The Hood Program

The "Black United Front" is an organization made up of concerned and committed individuals and organizations who have united to assume responsibility for working and leading the struggle for a better life for themselves and their children. The Black United Front is a broad-based organization which includes all social, political, religious and cultural sections of the Black community.  The Feed The Hood Program helps people in less fortunate communities meet some of their basic needs of food, clothes, personal hygiene and medical products.
